Sanford J. Vieder, D.O., FACOEP
Medical Director



Dr. Sanford J. Vieder, D.O., FACOEP, is medical director and co-owner of Lakes Urgent Care. He is also Chairman and Medical Director at Beaumont Hospital’s Emergency Trauma Center in Farmington Hills.

Dr. Vieder has had over 25 years of experience with the EMS/911 system and serves on the Medical Control Authority for both Oakland and Wayne Counties. He also serves as the medical director for multiple local police and fire departments. He was named an HOUR Detroit Top Doc for Emergency Medicine for the 5th consecutive year in 2015.

“Lakes Urgent Care is a place where you can receive high quality health care, with minimal wait time and reduced expense in a friendly, comfortable atmosphere,” says Dr. Vieder. “Our physicians have extensive emergency medicine experience and training and are capable of taking care of your urgent health care needs. At Lakes Urgent Care, our patients get the benefit of emergency medicine quality without the higher cost or long waits. We created Lakes Urgent Care because patients deserve to have a cost-effective and timely alternative for quality medical care when they are unable to see their own primary care physician.”

Dr. Vieder attended Michigan State University, College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating in 1988. He completed a 4-year residency specializing in Emergency Medicine through Michigan State University and Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan and is currently board certified in Emergency Medicine.

Dr. Vieder is active in physician training and education. He is a clinical professor of medicine for Michigan State University and currently serves as the Chairman and Medical Director of the Emergency Trauma Center at Beaumont Hospital in Farmington Hills (a regional Level 2 Verified Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons) since 2008. Prior to 2008, Dr. Vieder served as the residency program director for the Emergency Medicine Residency at Botsford Hospital.

When not working, Dr. Vieder enjoys spending time with his wife Carol, their 3 sons and their Siberian Huskies, Koko and Luna

Lawrence M. Dell, M.D.



Dr. Lawrence Dell’s experience includes 25 years of urgent care work. He is the Medical Director of Wayne County Employees’ Retirement System. He is the Owner/Director of Internal Medicine & Primary Care Specialists where he teaches medical residents and students.

“Lakes Urgent Care is open almost 100 hours every week,” said Dr. Dell. “We provide our patients with a state-of-the-art medical facility and compassionate and caring physicians and staff. In addition to following up with a patient’s primary care doctor, we often call our patients to follow up on the treatment we provided along with any updates on their test results.”

Dr. Dell attended the University of Michigan for both his honors undergraduate degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology and dual degree in Human Nutrition. He completed his medical degree at the University of Michigan and his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Illinois.

Since joining and starting a group practice, Dr. Dell has participated in various aspects of medicine including Medical Director of two local nursing homes, Medical Director of two Hospice Organizations (Karmanos and Visiting Nurse Association). He served at MPRO as a Physician Reviewer and as a member of the Utilization Review Department at both Woodland Medical Center and Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital (HVSH). He also served on the HVSH medical executive committee as well as the morbidity and mortality committee and enjoys attending its tumor board.

Dr. Dell is a member of the Oakland County Medical Society, the Michigan State Medical Society, and the American College of Physicians, Phi Delta Epsilon International Medical Fraternity, the Shriners, Masons, the University of Michigan Alumni Association and Congregation Shaarey Zedek.

Dr. Dell was born in Windsor, Ontario and moved to the Detroit area at age ten. He graduated from Southfield High School as a Blue Jay earning letters in tennis and was the National Honors Society president.

Dr. Dell is married and has three children and two dogs. Together they enjoy winter sports, travel, photography, Broadway Theater and music. Dr. Dell plays team softball and Whirlyball. He likes to golf and is an avid reader. Dr. Dell has recently embraced a vegan lifestyle. He is most proud of his ability to listen.

Haidar Al-Saadi, D.O.
Medical Director, Lakes Urgent Care Livonia



Haidar Al-Saadi is the Medical Director at Lakes Urgent Care Livonia. He oversees the Providers’ and Staff training. He has a Bachelor’s of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Michigan-Dearborn. After being the lab manager at an Environmental Lab in Novi, he decided to go to medical school in Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. After graduating, he went into the field of Emergency Medicine at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills. His training has prepared him to evaluate and treat a variety of illnesses.

“I have been working at Lakes since 2012,” said Al-Saadi, “and have enjoyed every minute of helping this community!”

Adam Vieder, D.O.



Adam Vieder, D.O. is an emergency medicine physician completing his residency at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital. He attended Michigan State University earning his Bachelor of Sciences in Kinesiology. Following completion of his undergraduate work, he was employed at Lakes Urgent Care as a medical assistant while applying to medical school. Dr. Vieder attended the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine DMC campus. He is currently an associate director of clinical clerkship in the emergency department at Henry Ford Wyandotte. Dr. Vieder is a member of multiple medical organizations including the American Osteopathic Association, the American College of Emergency Physicians, and the Emergency Medicine Residents Association. In his free time, he enjoys relaxing with his wife and young son.”

Rikin Shah, D.O.



Rikin Shah, D.O. is a licensed physician in his last year of residency at Garden City Hospital currently serving as Senior Chief Resident. Dr. Shah joined the staff at Lakes Urgent Care in 2015. Dr. Shah graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Neurobiology from University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2013. He is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians and the American Osteopathic Association.

His special professional interests include ultrasound, critical care, and orthopedic injuries. In his free time, Dr. Shah enjoys traveling abroad, basketball, and eating at new restaurants.

Alyssa Pabalan, D.O.

Alyssa Alcasabas Pabalan, D.O. is an Emergency Medicine physician currently completing her residency at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital, where she is also an Associate Clinical Clerkship Director. She grew up in Patchogue, NY, earned a BA in Biology from Vassar College in 2010 and received her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2014.

She serves as a program representative for the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians, and is a clinical faculty member at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Outside of medicine, she enjoys adventures in food and travel.

Carol Lindstrom, PA‑C

Carol Lidstrom

Carol Lidstrom, PA-C is a Certified Physician Assistant and has been on staff at Lakes Urgent Care since 2014. She received her Associates Degree from Oakland Community College where she obtained her paramedic training, she worked 7 years as a paramedic in northern Oakland County and taught a first responder course for Oakland County Police and Fire Fighters at the Oakland Police Academy and at Henry Ford Community College. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in 1993 from University of Detroit Mercy where she also completed her Physician Assistant studies.

She has experience in family practice, ER, worked for the Chief of Surgery at Sinai Hospital and has been working in urgent care the past 7 years. She loves helping people.

When not working, she spends time with her husband, 5 grown children and grandchildren. She also enjoys gardening and genealogy.

Dean Burklund, M.S., PA‑C

Dean Burklund, M.S., PA-C, is a Certified Physician Assistant and has been on staff at Lakes Urgent Care since 2011. He received his Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies in 2006 from Wayne State University and received his Bachelors of Science in Biological Sciences from Michigan State University in 1989. He is a current member of the American Association of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and Michigan Association of Physician Assistants (MAPA). Dean has a special interest in preventative care and urgent care medicine.

Taylor McCorkle, D.O.

Taylor McCorkle, D.O. is an Emergency Medicine physician at Beaumont Farmington Hills. Dr. McCorkle has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Baylor University and obtained his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2015. He is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians and the American Osteopathic Association. In his free time, Dr. McCorkle enjoys rock climbing, backpacking and crossing things off his ever-expanding bucket list.

Kristen Krueger, M.S., PA‑C



Kristen Krueger, M.S., PA-C, is a Certified Physician Assistant and has been on staff at Lakes Urgent Care since 2006.  “I enjoy working at Lakes Urgent Care because with every patient, we try to provide the best possible medical care in a very friendly and resourceful environment,” said Kristen.  She received her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies in 2004 from Wayne State University and received her Bachelors of Science in Biological Sciences in 2002. She is a current member of the American Association of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and Michigan Association of Physician Assistants (MAPA). Kristen has a special interest in preventative care and women’s health care. In her spare time, Kristen enjoys reading novels, watching movies and most of all, spending time with her husband and young son.

Zeena Merchant, D.O.



Zeena Merchant, D.O. is a licensed physician currently completing her Emergency Medicine residency at Botsford Hospital. She joined the Lakes Urgent Care team in 2014. Dr. Merchant has a Bachelors in Business Administration from Baylor University and obtained her medical degree from Midwestern University in Arizona.

Dr. Merchant is a member of multiple medical organizations including American Osteopathic Association, American College of Emergency Physicians, American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians, and the Emergency Medicine Residents Association. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with family.

Maria Holzer
Office Administrator



Maria has been a part of LUC administrative staff since 2005.  Maria holds a degree from Walsh College of Business and currently serves as the associate office manager for the practice.  Maria loves being a part of the Lakes Urgent Care team and takes great pride in providing our community with efficient, knowledgeable, warm and friendly healthcare.

In her free time, Maria enjoys spending special moments with her family and grandchildren.  She also enjoys classical music and traveling.

Lead Clinical Medical Assistant



Chelle has been a medical assistant at the Lakes Urgent Care since 2004. She enjoys working at Lakes Urgent Care because she finds it very rewarding to be able to help patients in need. Chelle loves the medical field and her experience working at the Lakes Urgent Care so much that she’s currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in nursing.
